the model serves as an idea for a space floating in water. in the space are two steel objects that act at the same time as stairs. their hollow well holes penetrate the space vertically and are open at the top and bottom. they are filled with water up to the waterline. pedestals, steps and ladders of different sizes are welded to these hollow bodies. during the descent and ascent, the stair wells function as sound boxes and the pedestals, steps, ladders and railing as strings, which play the rhythm of the steps onto the walls of the room and make the boundary to the surrounding water acoustically perceptible.

das model dient als vorstellung für einen im wasser treibenden raum. in dem raum befinden sich zwei stählerne objekte, die gleichzeitig treppen sind. deren hohle augen durchdringen den raum senkrecht und sind oben und unten offen. sie sind bis zur wasserlinie mit wasser gefüllt. verschieden große podeste, stufen und leitern sind an diese hohlkörper angeschweißt. während des hinab- und hinaufsteigens fungieren die augen als klangkörper und die podeste, stufen, die leitern und das geländer als saiten, die den rhythmus der schritte an die wände des raumes werfen und die grenze zum umgebenden wasser akustisch erfahrbar machen.
